Lord have mercy, the “Kensington Indefensible” a so-called “Newsletter to the Kensington People” was delivered to my home yesterday. Someone (no names) must have won the lottery because producing this series of 4 page full color flyers and mailing them to every Kensington home is costing someone (no names) a small fortune.

Once again the executive steering committee (no names) has chosen to take the low road and produce a piece of misinformation about our community’s search for better police services delivery. The problems we face are numerous and complex. Writing about these problems using scare tactics, half-truths and distortions is completely unconscionable.

It is becoming evident why the group responsible for the flyers wishes to be anonymous. Who would want their name attached to the accusatory screeds that keep referencing a few selective issues from the April 28th Matrix meeting? What photographer would want to take credit for those dull lifeless photos? And who or what organization would want to have it known they produced and financed such bilge and bile filled flyers?

While the producers (no names) seem to fashion their flyers as some sort of community resource, the flyers remain crude vindictive political hit pieces. The target is the current KPPCSD Board. Behind every headline and article are the erroneous assertions that the current Board aims to shut down the police department, deny voters a voice and make Kensington subservient to the dreaded city of El Cerrito.

A note to those folks who were thinking about getting one of those swell  “Keep Our Police Independent” lawn signs, the offer no longer appears in the current  “Kensington Indefensible”.  Why anyone (no names) would want to advertise they had made up their mind long before getting all the facts still remains a mystery. Can I get an amen?

So attention all faithful Kensingtonians (no names) never forget our mantra to always “Put Kensington First”. Where we put it is something else again.
