For Immediate Release

The folks at headquarters have returned from our Winter Solstice retreat. They are rejuvenated and excited to pass along to those faithful who were unable to attend this uplifting event the good news that was generated.

This New Year we have a new KPPCSD Board and new Board President and Vice-President. As a result of losing our majority control of the Board, we are adapting a different approach to maintain our influence and control to make sure Kensington remains our town. Briefly discussed below are some of the new approaches that came out of our Winter Solstice retreat.

Question the new Board’s procedural knowledge:

Fortunately the two untried and unknown newly elected Board members lack the basic experience and our knowledge of how the Board can operate and what it takes to keep Kensington the 5th safest place in the state. Along with the two previous board members who do not generally support our goals, they may constitute a weak board that is very likely to go its own way unless we intervene. We must remain firm in our conviction that only we know what needs to be done and how to do it. Mere novices couldn’t possibly have the wealth of litigation wisdom we possess. While the new Board could not be said to be incompetent, they certainly do cry out for our expert supervision.

Question the new Board’s management decisions:

Take for example the new Board’s refusal to rehire Chief Hart as a result of Kevin Kyle’s resignation after only 8 days on the job. The solution had already been arranged, Chief Hart would return and rescue the district. But the new Board showed their true colors when they would not even second the motion made by the out going Board President to rehire Chief Hart as our once-again interim COP/GM. This is just one more example of the new Board’s tendency to willfully ignore our common sense solutions and operate as if they answer to no one but themselves. The new Board appears to be discounting our many years of hands-on experience running the district. It’s just appalling!

Provide real-time vocal commentary:

If you have attended any of the recent Board meetings you would have seen one of our past Board members taking up a vanguard position in order to keep the new Board’s campaign promises of honesty and transparency. And this past Board member surely knows something about the lack of transparency and honesty. The new Board’s eagerness to place Officer Hull in the interim position of COP/GM for 6 months is a current hot issue. It will be used to highlight the new Board’s lack of transparency and attempts to shove decisions down the throats of the public. As one sage recently noted, it just smacks of manipulation and deceit. And this sage has had extensive experience dealing with manipulation and deceit!

Recruit residents to speak against the new Board’s decisions:

We have encouraged and supported several residents to come forward with their concerns about the new Board’s actions. One concern raised was about the wisdom of elevating Sergeant Hull to the interim COP/GM position. He has only been with the KPD for 20+ years so how can he be expected to know anything about putting a budget together, much less how to keep Kensington the 5th safest place in California? Not to mention the current and past unresolved investigations.

These are but a few examples of the vexing issues we need to constantly keep in front of the public. Our operatives are skilled at skewing the new Board’s actions to make them appear as refusals to share their information as they sit smugly silent at meetings as members of the public ask for information to which they are entitled. Our Board never acted in such a manner.

And just so we are clear, that “vocal few” who turn up at each meeting, let’s call it like it is…nattering nabobs of negativism all over again!
