The faithful must never loose sight of the goal of keeping our locally controlled private police department. All paid for by Kensington taxpayers!

To achieve our goal we have undertaken the following course of action:

1.) Ten years ago, a small group of farsighted lawyers drafted a petition to put in place an ordinance that would block any current or future attempts to contract with other agencies for police services. Instead of being put up for a vote by the community, the petition was instead cleverly adopted by the KPPCSD board as an ordinance without a vote.

It was all done legally and don’t let anyone tell you anything different. Especially the very small vocal group that attends each board meeting.

2.) We installed a disruptive KPPCSD board member with very limited social skills to sow chaos and discontent. Misguided critics claim his antics at board meetings display his alarming lack of impulse control. Some even went so far as to lambaste him when he twice used the royal “I command you…” in a public exchange with a KPPCSD staff member.

Our asset just needs a little more time honing his presentation skills. Should talk of a recall arise, quickly squelch it and denounce it as blasphemy!

3.) The media squad has really been productive lately. They have put up a barrage of postings demonizing the KPPCSD board majority, the general manger, the iCOP, the board’s lawyer, the board’s consultants, the community center project, the dreaded El Cerrito, meeting notes, unfavorable news stories, and of course any attempts to improve police services via contracting.

Never have so few posted so much haranguing, half-truths, hogwash and hokum. Can I get a amen?

Remember; the faithful preach the gospel of “bold leadership to protect your interests first”. Obstructionism in defense of privilege is no vice. You betcha!

“What we need is a rebirth of satire, of dissent, of irreverence, of an uncompromising insistence that phoniness is phony and platitudes are platitudinous.”
