The good folks up at headquarters are circulating a few cogent thoughts to combat the unrepentant critics of our independent locally controlled police department.

Some have said our community is still suffering from a bad case of “Harman Hangover”. Still other heretics claim it is more like a combination of “Barrow Blasphemy”, “Hart Hogwash” and “Ramos Railing”! 

To make matters worse, the small vocal minority that shows up at every meeting is now preaching “Foley Freakout” is our new cross to bear! It’s a complete outrage!

Any faithful knows our independent locally controlled police department has been the same for 50 years. Critics say that the culture of our independent locally controlled police department is rotten. The only thing that is rotten is the small group of residents who are trying to force their will on the rest of us with lies, hyperbole, and lawsuits. Gadzooks!

It’s becoming clear that those who support surrendering our independent locally controlled police department to some entity such as the dreaded El Cerrito lack our Foundational Values. Why in tarnation would anyone pay Matrix to devise a plan to hand over our police is just beyond the pale. 

Our Foundational Values tell us that keeping our independent locally controlled private police department is our right. When you have lived here as long as some of the faithful have it is seen as an entitlement. And the taxpayers foot the bills for the extravagant police contract benefits and dubious police behavior. 

In turn, our independent locally controlled private police department can provide the individual attention the faithful deserve. Remember the campaign slogan from the candidates the faithful supported; “BOLD leadership to protect YOUR interests FIRST”. That’s our Foundational Values.

Dark forces are working to undermine our Foundation Values. First it was the bifurcating of the COP/GM positions. Now it’s firing our police and handing the department over to the dreaded El Cerrito. Can total annexation be far behind?

But fear not, the good news is the faithful are way too smart to be manipulated so easily. Besides, why in heaven’s name fix something if it isn’t broken? Can I get an amen!
