Thank our lucky stars, the truth is finally out there!

Our legal eagle folks have had an epiphany. They finally figured out what is the ultimate goal of the current Board. It is the annexation of Kensington by the dreaded El Cerrito! As they say, who knew?

Yes, those rascals on the Board want to turn over everything to El Cerrito. Contracting with El Cerrito for police services is but the first step down the long slippery slope to complete annexation. Which would of course seriously dilute if not completely eliminate any local say on what goes on in our community. Why it’s such an outrage!

It is also clear that those rascals on the Board have no intent of following the local ordinance which requires a vote of the community before taking the first step to contract for police services. So pay no attention to those misguided individuals that view the local ordinance as something less than Holy Scripture.

Sure, we had a recent election for three open seats on the KPPCSD Board and the faithful were only able to get one of their candidates elected. But just because Kensington voters chose candidates who supported change and putting those changes in place doesn’t mean the faithful should yield to the will of the voters. The faithful know what is best for Kensington and should keep pressing for a vote on the issue of contracting till we get the results we want.

Until then the faithful might wish to pursue a few other options that are available while we await a favorable vote or something like it. Headquarters encourages the faithful to continue spreading disinformation concerning the current Board’s motives and transparency, the GM’s method of hiring firms to do his work and the capabilities of the Board’s legal counsel. As an example, some may wish to print up flyers and post them up on community bulletin boards.

As we prepare for this week’s Matrix meeting, headquarters issued the mantra for these events. It is…discredit. Discredit the KPPCSD Board. Discredit the Board President. Discredit the General Manager. Discredit the consulting firm that the GM hired. Discredit the report the consulting firm produced. Discredit those wayward individuals who support contracting in any form. And last but not least, discredit reporters who write news stories about the KPD’s problems.

But never, ever discredit those members of our independent locally controlled police department and their allies. For that would surely lead ultimately to annexation of Kensington by the dreaded El Cerrito.
