Best of Show / Memo to the 600 Club Faithful
Boffo! It was show time at the last KPPCSD board meeting. Part 2 of the consultant’s study with the proposed administrative support reorganization recommendations was up for approval by the board. And some folks were not happy about it.
Kensingtonians viewed the consultant’s staff recommendations for staff reorganization as a move to fire Lynn Wolter. Lynn was hired way back in the Stone Age during the Greg Harman period when things were pretty loose, like the difficulty of obtaining accurate budget figures. As they say, she has history.
The faithful had a lot of Lynn’s fans out for this portion of the meeting. First up was Lynn Wolter’s son, a lawyer from Sacramento representing her. He had litigation on his mind. The show began to sizzle when Mr. Wolter threatened legal action.
His performance was just one of many put on by the faithful. The categories listed below are arranged to acknowledge a few of the show’s unique performances:
The best fast talking performance by a lawyer –
The most rambling performance by a long time resident –
The most retrograde performance by a pretentious resident –
The most controlled performance by a district secretary –
The most humorous performance by a new resident –
The best deer caught in the headlights performance by a member of the KPD –
The best office space planning performance by a long time resident –
The best overall performance by an ensemble –
The best self-serving performance by a member of the police association –
The cheesiest standing ovation performance by an ensemble –
And the bravest performance by a long time resident –
After the board voted 4 to 1 to accept the recommendations, the faithful noisily exited because for them the meeting was over. It was a rude show of un-neighborly disrespect. Their disruptive chatter followed them out the door and into the night.
